Production has officially wrapped on Semolina Pilchard, the debut feature film from Half Sun Entertainment. Shot on location in and around Liverpool, the film follows a terminally ill gangster who summons his estranged eldest daughter home, only for long-buried family tensions to erupt into something far deadlier.
Written and directed by Mike Clarke, the film stars Sarah Louise Chadwick, Sophia Leanne Kelly, Alina Allison and an ensemble of familiar British faces including Joe McGann, Jack Ryder, Louis Emerick, Ricky Tomlinson, and more. Over several intense weeks of shooting, the cast and crew have completed principal photography pn what looks to be a very funny Liverpool-set comedy drama.
Semolina Pilchard now moves into post-production, where the edit, sound design and score will be crafted. Festival submissions are on the horizon, with release plans to be announced in the coming months. Keep an eye on our channels for the first official trailer and poster.
